Jessy Yasmeen Lugo (1994) known as Jessy Yasmeen is a Rotterdam based artist, with both Dutch and South American roots. With her with soul implemented dreamy IndieFolk (inspired by acts such as Ben Howard, Bon Iver, and Matt Corby), she wants to challenge listeners to be vulnerable and conquer personal battles like fear and desire.
Over the past three years, Jessy played more than 80 shows and performed on (international) stages like Paradiso (Amsterdam), De Doelen (Rotterdam), Het Paard (The Hague) and Prachtwerk (Berlin). In a live setting, Jessy is accompanied by Vincent van Liempd (vocals, keys, synth-bass) and Jeroen Smelik (vocals, drums). In addition, Jessy brings an extra dimension to her show using uniquely designed kaleidoscope visuals.

2019 did turn out to be a year full of successes for Jessy Yasmeen: besides winning the 'Grote Prijs van Rotterdam 2019' (category: singer-songwriter) and being nominated for the Rotterdam Music Awards 2019 (categories: ‘the promise’ and ‘best track’), she also released her debut EP. The ‘Unchain Me’ EP describes the fighting process of self-love where the phases denial, confrontation, consciousness and acceptance are enlightened.
2020 will be the year this artist will continue her development, with lots of new work and stories to share under guidance of Music Manager Menno Timmerman and label TCBYML. What already can be revealed is the release of the ‘No Man is an Island’ Trilogy, during Bevrijdingsfestival, Zuid-Holland and that Jessy will participate in the semi-finals of the ‘Grote prijs van Nederland 2020’.
